Longevity in the purchase of internal operating and office equipment

Durability when purchasing internal office and business equipment Durability and reparability are the focus at allsafe - also when purchasing our office and business equipment. Our office chairs have been in use for over 20 years and are regularly repaired and maintained. In our offices, we rely on timeless, hard-wearing industrial parquet flooring that will last for decades. Even walls are not simply disposed of, but carefully dismantled, stored and reused as required. We even build some of our furniture ourselves. For our terrace in Fürstenwalde, we welded a table ourselves and sourced wood for the top from a neighboring wood pallet construction company. The same applies to production: keep what we have instead of buying new. That's why we comprehensively overhauled two large systems in 2021 and 2023 instead of replacing them with new machines. This allows us to extend the useful life of our equipment and save valuable resources. In production, too, we keep what we have instead of buying new. Resource requirements and energy consumption

At allsafe, we aim to continuously improve our energy efficiency and consistently rely on sustainable energy sources. We use 100% green electricity in both Engen and Fürstenwalde. In order to make our own contribution to energy generation, we have been operating a photovoltaic system on our company roof in Engen since March 2020. Since 2024, we have been producing 1500kWp on 8000m2. This means that we have doubled our solar power production, most of which we use directly for our operations, to 749kWp since commissioning 4000m2. Our site in Fürstenwalde was also connected to the grid with its own photovoltaic system in April 2021. We have been producing 100kWp annually since 2021, and an expansion to 349kWp is planned for 2025.Heating is provided by gas. In Engen, consumption in 2024 was 307,632 kWh. In Fürstenwalde, we consumed 111,683kWh in 2024.Heating is provided by gas. In Engen, consumption in 2024 was 307,632 kWh. In Fürstenwalde, we consumed 111,683 kWh in 2024.

Water consumption and waste management

Our water consumption is low for both sites, as no water is needed to manufacture our products. At the same time, we focus on the sustainable recycling of rainwater: the water from the roof areas is collected via our biotopes and returned to the environment in a natural way. When it comes to waste management, we pursue a clear strategy of reuse and reduction. By standardizing our packaging, we are increasingly relying on cardboard and have largely banned plastic from our shipping. We continue to use incoming packaging and have introduced reusable packaging such as wooden crates or mesh boxes with numerous partners. In 2024, we were already able to transfer 25% of our purchases to such sustainable packaging concepts. Our "Packaging optimization" project has achieved a great deal since 2021: we are working with suppliers on return agreements for wooden pallets and cardboard boxes and are developing packaging reduction solutions with our customers. One example: cardboard inserts from beams can be collected and returned to us together with the racks. This allows us to make efficient use of packaging and reduce the need for new materials. We have also been able to significantly reduce the amount of waste materials: While we still recorded 40 tons of waste paper in 2023, we were able to reduce the amount to 30 tons in 2024. The situation is similar for waste wood and commercial waste - 2024 waste wood (EN+FW): 56.24 tons 2024 / 2023: 67 tons Commercial waste (EN + FW): 20.68 tons 2023: 32t The effects are measurable: our consumption of packaging material in relation to total sales has fallen continuously in recent years.

Save paper - digital processes in everyday office life

Avoiding waste and material wastage is a high priority for us. At the Fürstenwalde plant, profile remnants accumulate on the milling machine during the production of handles. We pass these offcuts on to a workshop for people with disabilities, which uses them to produce reliable handles for all:change. The production of our airline rails also occasionally produces small quantities of offcuts. Instead of disposing of them, we systematically store them and offer them for sale to our employees and their friends - for meaningful and creative reuse.avoiding waste and material wastage is a high priority for us. We see it as our responsibility to minimize the use of hazardous substances for people and the environment. That is why we switch environmentally harmful cleaning agents to biodegradable alternatives wherever possible. One example is the replacement of brake cleaner, which has a negative impact on the ecosystem - we see this as a major lever for protecting the environment.we do not use any environmentally harmful agents in our core business, as our processes do not require it. Nevertheless, we strive to keep the impact as low as possible in supporting areas as well.we separate plastic film separately and bundle it according to the cradle-to-cradle principle. Since 2024, we have been using a press for PE plastic film to improve recyclability.

Mobility - Efficiently on the move for our customers

Personal contact with our customers and business partners is important to us. At the same time, we focus on forward-looking and efficient travel planning. Local appointments are bundled together, while supra-regional meetings are held virtually wherever possible. To this end, our meeting rooms are equipped with smartboards that enable video conferencing and joint document processing. For longer distances, we prefer to travel by train or plane and carefully weigh up participation in supplier audits and trade fairs. Our regional managers are on site worldwide, and we minimize travel expenses and emissions by dividing up national districts sensibly. Thanks to these measures, we have been able to reduce the number of days traveled by our sales employees in Germany in relation to sales in recent years or keep them constant. Every kilometer not driven is a contribution to environmental protection.

Commuting to work - environmentally friendly and flexible - Is that true?

We are rethinking mobility - sustainable, flexible and resource-friendly. Since 2019, we have been offering an in-house leasing scheme for used cars in addition to the traditional company car model in order to make consumption more conscious. As of December 2024, 60 employees are taking part in the leasing program, 25 of them with e-vehicles - this corresponds to a share of 42%. In addition, three pool vehicles - including a Vito and a Sprinter - have also been available to our employees for private use since 2020. Our new company cars have a plug: since 2021, every new company car has been an e-vehicle. Five charging points with a total of ten charging spaces were installed in our company parking lot in Engen to coincide with the first e-vehicle delivery in December 2021. In Fürstenwalde, two more charging points with four charging spaces were added in spring 2022.

For sustainable mobility in everyday life, allRad - a company leasing scheme for high-quality bicycles - has been in place since 2016. This allows our employees to be environmentally friendly and active on the road. Bike shelters, lockers and showers are available. In 2024, 34 employees are actively using the scheme, while a total of 70 have taken up the lease. We also took part in STADTRADELN 2024 again! With ten cyclists, we covered a total of 1,999 km and were able to save 332 kg of CO₂ - a strong signal for climate-friendly mobility. We have been enthusiastically participating in this campaign since 2021.
